The starting point

Choose a brewing routine first. Build a budget around the equipment and accessories that routine actually needs.

Choose a morning you can repeat

Picture an ordinary weekday. How many cups will you make, how much attention can you give them, and who will clean up? Write those answers down before comparing machines. A method that suits a slow weekend may feel less convenient before work. If you already enjoy coffee from your current brewer, start by identifying one specific frustration you want to solve.

Give everything a place

Measure your counter, including the clearance under cupboards. Allow room to fill a water tank, open a lid, place a cup, and reach the outlet. Plan where beans, filters, a scale, and cleaning supplies will live. Check the dimensions and clearance guidance for the exact equipment you are considering.

Budget for the whole routine

List the main brewer and any separate items your chosen method needs. Add the cost of consumables and delivery to the same list. Treat optional accessories as a second purchase, after you have used the basic setup. Our coffee planner lets you enter your own budget for each part and remove items you already own.
